Key Achievements in ICT
Key Achievements in ICT
1. Pioneer of the Domestic IT Industry
Played a foundational, historic role in establishing Nepal’s commercial software sector by founding Designco Nepal (1991) and engineering complex, large-scale automation systems for premier national institutions—including Nepal Telecom (NTC), the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), the Nepal Water Supply Corporation (KUKL/NWSC), and the Jyoti Group. This execution was accomplished under extreme resource scarcity, creating the early benchmarks for enterprise automation in the country.
2. Academic Architecture & Technical Policy Leadership
Championed the historic launch of Nepal’s first-ever professional computer and software engineering academic programs at the Institute of Engineering (IOE), Tribhuvan University, and Pokhara University. Defended and pushed these modern curricula through severe institutional inertia, budget deficits, and personal risk, breaking the traditional engineering monopoly to build the academic engine that now produces thousands of tech graduates annually.
3. Ecosystem Engineering & Startup Mentorship
Actively incubated Nepal’s tech ecosystem during its formative years by transforming early cohorts of traditional electronic engineers into modern software professionals. Through the Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) and international market-making delegations to CeBIT Hannover, Germany, provided vital mentorship, systemic resource avenues, and technical governance to early IT professionals and pioneering local startups.
4. Generational Bridge & Digital Outreach Advocacy
Successfully conceptualized and executed community-focused ICT initiatives that democratized technology access across demographic divides. Utilizing dedicated web portals, social media channels, and targeted NGO partnerships, actively delivered digital literacy and thought leadership to youth, guardians, and elderly citizens alike—permanently dismantling generational digital divides and promoting "digital hygiene."
5. Global Diaspora Collaboration for National Development
Actively orchestrating strategic alliances with the Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) professional diaspora and multinational giants to channel global expertise back into the local market. This collaborative architecture focuses on elevating academic quality, fostering cutting-edge localized innovation, and globally scaling Nepal's IT industry to turn brain drain into an active, national development asset.
