Dharma Ratna Yami

Dharma ratna Yami

The man Late Dharma Ratna Yami is a true political (army ????) and the man who fought against Brahmanism (caste discriminations, untouchability etc) was of similar (personality ???) as Dr. Ambedkar (B. S 1891 – 1956) of India( who was the person who led writing constitution and fought against same cause in India).
He was second child of father late Bhawani Ratna Tuladhar and mother Devi Maya Tuladhar and born on 2nd Bhadra 1972 . His childhood name was Juju Bhai.
Although he was the grand son of a royal merchant late Ratan Das Tuladhar (died s. 1922) , since childhood he had to grow up in that family who landed up in street in penniless state because of the crude tyrant prime-minister Chandra Shamsher (ruling period 1901-19). Like other elder brothers (Ash Ratna, Man Das and Harkha Das) Bhawani Ratna also landed up in Kalimpong in the search of suitable job.
While doing business of cycle and cap he came across one business man Gyan Man Tuladhar who is the second son of renowned business man Dharma Man Tuladhar (B.S. 1918- 1994) of Nepal. Dharma Man used to be trustable friend of his father Ratna Das. As per the good advice of Gyan Man Tuladhar, Bhawani Ratna proceeded with him and he started working in Farijong business center at Lhasa. Regarding the character of Bhawani Ratna ,renowned mahapandit Rahul Sanscritiyan of India described him as “ Bhawani Ratna was a spent thrift on useless things, however ,he was very honest and labourous in nature. After some period of time Dharma Man recruited him as the chief staff in his business center where Bhawani Ratna spent eleven years (upto 1934).“

Mahapandit Rahul Shanscritiyan mentioned that Ratna Das reached bankruptcy also due to the mistakes of his own sons. And also said that “that time the business trade Centre in Tibet was performing and could have sustained the business in long term, however, the eldest son Asha Ratna spoilt the business because of his habit of taking drugs. Not only the elder son was a hindrance to the well functioning of the business growth, Bhawani Ratna was also spend thrift and spoiling the business growth too. He had kept mistress secretly from different caste. His negligience toward wife Devi Maya (mother of Dharma Ratna) made her suffered a lot. Poor lady had to go through painful sufferings and lived at her maternal house along with two small sons.
Rahuljee described in his book that Dharma Ratna had spent painful childhood with his grand mother (maternal). He didn’t receive any love. Grand mother was all alone. In order the meet the daily hand to mouth of the family he was forced to work with Tamot Tamrakar for earning rupees five per month as salary instead of going to school at such tender age. He was only eight years old at that time. He worked there only for three years because there was a communal riot between Bajracharyas and Tuladhars. The reason behind was arrival of one gentle man called “Kyanchya Lama “ in Nepal in the year 1981 in the month of Falgun. There was a serious dispute over whether it was right or wrong to respect the monk by touching his feet. Dharma Ratna was on the side of touching the feet and Tamrakar community was against it, so he lost his job because of this dispute.
After this dispute he worked with Khardar Laxmi Prasad at rupees 3.00 per month as salary for stitching hand-made cotton shoes. After working for a year, he came across a very close servant of his grand father ,as discussion with him Dharma Ratna got contract of shoe production and he started earning rupees 35 per month. He was sustaining his file including his family members through this business. Suddenly his business dropped because of the import of cheaper Japanese shoe. His hand made cotton shoe became expensive and he lost his business in the market. He became unemployed again. At that time he was seventeen years old.

He decided to move to his father in Tibet instead of hanging around uselessly in Kathmandu. He stole Rs. 155 from his grand mother which himself had given her for saving out of his own earnings. He started his journey towards kalingpong. He was not aware of direction of the Kalimpong at that time. So, he asked the direction of the road towards Kalimpong to one shopkeeper at Thankot . The shop keeper felt very pity over the boy and advised him to return back home. He explained to the shop keeper telling him that his father works in Tibet. The shop keeper even got more surprised and tried to convince him to return back to Kathmandu informing him that he had to travel by bus and train, he can’t travel.
Dharma Ratna didn’t take the advice of the shop keeper and proceeded further by climbing the Chandra Giri mountain with lot of courage. That time he could not even know how to communicate in Nepali, the national language. Somehow with lot of difficulty he managed to reach Kalimpong. There he stayed with merchant Dharma Man and proceeded to Tibet. He joined his father Bhawani Ratna Tuladhar and started working as a staff in that business shop. This was in the year 1933.
Dharma Man had shop at Lhasa called ‘Chhu-Shing-Shya’. In the beginning of 1934 Dharma Ratna went to Kalimpong and Calcutta as a part of his business assignment of merchant Dharma Man. At Kalimpong while on his way to Tibet, he met the famous literary figure Pandit Rahul Sanskrityan , at that time he was a stherbirbadi monk. He was on his way back to Tibet to complete his remaining search of ancient cultural Buddhist doctrines. He also met another monk Dhamma Lok(Das Ratna Tuladhar as his original name ) in kalimpong who was on his way to Tibet to see the living Manjushree of China . He started second journey to Lhasa in last week of April 1934 with two Buddhist monk.

He feels grateful for having had this golden chance to travel with such political and religious personality like Rahul sanskrityan during his one month journey to Tibet. In Tibet he also came across a person called Ananda Nand from Chita Baun (Bangladesh) a great revolutionary figure who fled his country under very risky environment. He mentored Dharma Ratna on various national as well, as international issues.he educated him on issues of master and servant relations and totally transformed Dharma Ratna into a hardcore revolutionary mind.
In 1939 Dharma Ratna’s father committed suicide. Since Dharma Ratna disclosed the death of his mother to his father Bhawani Ratna, his father stopped getting sleep in the night. He committed suicide with the help of one French pistol near the corner of hishousein a dark room. Dharma Ratna came rushing back into the room and the body had already become very cold.
Before commiting suicide Dharma Ratna had left behind three letters saying
“ I commited suicide out of my own wish. I licked the diamind dust initially amd then I drank offing cooked in oil., however I could not die. Now I am ending the life by sing pistil. No one should be held responsible for my death.”

Dharma ratna got the shock out of his life loosing his one and only one life support.he then decided to leave Tibet. He came back to kalingpong after carrying Rs. 800/ out of his own earning and Rs. 2500/ out of his father’s earnings.
During his few months stay at Kalingpong he wrote one novel ….named samaj ko yek jhalakand got it published through s. d. p. o upasakin kalingpong. In this book he has expressed details on crude and cunning behavior of exploiters of the society.after the publication of this book he collected few revolutionary books in 1994 to Kathmandu(Kantipur).
After reaching Kathmandu he statedchis business by opening a handmade she shop with a capital investment of Rs. 3000/-Within short span of tme he faced conflict with his business master , felt humialatedamd frustrated after experiencing in human behavior from the business owner, he left for Trishuli with Rs. 10/- and half Tola gold in his pocket.

In Trishuli he changed in to disguise of priest and he moved towards Betrabati . After reaching Betrabati Chhen Chhen Monastery , he tried to learn from a monk and he started teaching children. However, he didn’t get peace of mind even there and didn’t get satisfied too hence came back to Kathmandu. Then he started of his life’s mission of ending the Rule of Ranas by spreading awareness campaign and started aligning with like minded people . To sustain life he opened one Soap Shop in 1995 at Asan Tole (Bhotahiti). Regarding this shop one popular journalist Devendra Mumukshya says :-“ At Kathmandu Ashan Bhotahiti Shop Yamijee’s shop used to be a place to dump the eye wash for distracting the secret intelligence of Ranas. Inside shop the place used to be a place to have a meeting with revolutionaries and pamphlets, parcha, letters passing and receiving busy centre and same shop was used for organizing activities for revolutionaries of three cities( Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur) .This way the shop of Dharma Ratna Yami was projected as a shop of soap for clearing the dirty cloth and removing smells , inside the same shop was used for young revolutionaries to clear up nations dirt.

Regarding this shop Khadka Man Singh Basnet (who is the founder member of “Prachanda Gorkha” a political party (established 1988) , who stayed in jail for 20 years(up to 2007) said in his own word “Because of the simple nature , smiling face, sweet talk and deep thinker not only the customers of the shop used to gather around, but also large numbers of people who were interested in improvement and progress also started gathering around in that shop.

In that shop there used to be heavy debate on the current exploitation and inhuman behavior and injustice. The democratic movement of India, discussion about the world in different countries regarding political , economic and social sector developments including ups and downs of revolutional movements in most of the countries. In the same shop, the current Nepal congress supreme leader Ganesh Man Singh Shrestha,

Martyr Gangalal Shrestha( B.S. 1975-97), political, social and Nepal Bhasa Literature renowned figure Prem Bahadur Kansakar (Nepal Sambat 1037-1112) etc started developing close relations. Later year B.S. 1997 in the month of Kartik , Nepal Parishad(estd. 20th jestha 1993) their numbers including other political ,social and from educational sectors were all arrested including Dharma Ratna Yami.

Among around 200 arrested most of them were released after interrogation (Safai ?) and paying penalty
After that 25th Poush ,1997 , there were around one hundred insid jail on 6th Magh 1997, main people consisting of one third of the total , rest were released. For the remaining main gang of prisoners on 7th Magh 1997 Monday, a special court bench hearing was organized to decide on the decision on penalizing case prisoners.

In that bench, king Tribhuvan, British agent-Bentham, Shree 6 Bada Guruju including Brahmin Royal Pandits, including high level Ranas, beaurocrats, army heads. Prime minister Shree 3 Juddha Shamsher (Ruling period 1932-1945 A.D.) made entry into bench, one administrator from Juddha Samsher side read out written document. In that paper out of about 200 prisoners many of them were released after safai? and paying heavy penalty charges. After 25th Paush 1997 these people locked up inside Singha Durbar only one hundred were left over. After 6th Magh 1997 one third declared as key players were imprisoned releasing the remaining.

Sukra Raj Shastri and Pandit Muralidhar were described as the main key fault(Dosh)?.
After that paper which consisted of charges against remaining people was read out. That time those guilty (Aaparadhi ?) (one third remaining ones) were made to sign attendance in Gaddi Baithak. After making hearing about

Penalty , the court waited to hear about the statements from rest of the chiefs. Shree 3 Juddha Samsher started looking at the assembly member present in the hall. After seeing the pin drop silence Juddha Samsher asked the person next to heir Shree 5 Tribhuvan(B.S. 1963-2011) “ These people (Royal protestor) who are eyeing at the thorn have to be penalized , his majesty?.”

Shree 5 Tribhuvan politely replied “ will need to give moderate penalty” .Then Juddha Samsher looked at Royal priests and demanded their advice. Among Royal Priests specially Somnath Sigdel(B.S. 1941-2026) pleaded in front of Juddha Samsher “His Majesty! According to Dharma Shastra penalty ko Tajbij? ”

In Dharma Grantha what and how penalty shall be given is clearly spell out Brahmin Royal priests were very sure and they didn’t have to elaborate anything they just had to explain the meaning of shloke? As
Among 35,36 people Juddha Samsher had special grudge against Shukra Raj Shastri and was extremely angry against him.

Meaning He shouted and scolded using words “ Newar, jyapu, peasant…”. After listening to long scoldings Martyr Sahid Sukra Raj Shastri(B.S. 1950-1997) intervened Juddha Samsher and said “ I don’t need to say anything if only you Royal highness had the right to say and we don’t have any right to express but if it is a

Sabha? Assembly all those who are present should be given opportunity to express this feelings . If your highness wishes to kill me you are welcome to kill me and I am ready to die. I am not scared of death however I would like to ask one question to you your highness and those members present in that assembly “ What have I done such a big crime? That I get death penalty . Please clearify this.”

During my stay inside jail( B.s. 1995 since magh month) I have been charged of several allegations. How do you justify all those charges? . After other things spell out in Royal doctrine regarding dfferent level of penalties was discussed however your responsibility of serving the citizen Royal doctrine also has mentioned penalties issue should have been raised.

They felt no need of responding to the questions raised by Sukra Raj Shastri using the clause of Royal(Raj shabha ?) Supreme Aakhtiyar? Right whatever he said is the right one. He could declared Shree 3 Maharaj told the attendees of staffs of the court ordered “Give extreme penalty to these people” and he returned to his palace in Balaju.
Shree 5 Tribhuvan also returned to his royal palace British Regident also returned from Singh Durbar. This way without complete proceeding of court haearing the supreme court adjourned. After half an hour the session resumed under the current the chairmanship of commander in Chief Padma Shamsher , Mohan Samsher, Keshar Samsher, Aanand Samsher, Nara Samsher were

Including Jungi Aadalat ?staff Ratna Man Kaji(grandfather of Ganesh Man Singh Shrestha) were present. The declaration (faisala ? ) paper was in the hand of Ratna Man Kaji hover other person read out the document. The penalty of remaining people were as per follows

“Dharma Ratna Yami with always will smiling and humorous face and very fond of gossiping and he loves throwing humorous gossip . After six month in kaal Kothari ? was built and we were shifted to a separate compound. There also Dharma Ratna used to be with Ram Hari Sharma and Tanka Prasad Aacharya . Inside Kaalkothari he too spend life like others.

He had studied Buddhist literature and book of Rahul Sanskrityan. Inside Kaalkothari he got a chance to study books on Ramayan , Mahavharat and old Sanskrit Literature including studies in geography, Math etc. He improved much more inside jail. His interest in writing articles , poem , creation also got developed.

Regarding nature of dharma ratnayami, the supreme leadeermr ganesh man singh of nepali congress said:
In 1997 we all landed up in jail. Yamijee was very popular inside jail. He could motivate police guards inside jail. He had very good sense of humour, and had a special talent in communicationg with people of diferent nature. He hasspecial talent of making people laugh. He was equally clever too.
A few days after being arrested he was called for for providing formal written satatement about activites against Rana regime. Hwe was asked “ are you married?”he instantly replied” Yes I am little little married”making every one laugh in the trial room. Similarly he was asked a question “ Where all have you visited?. He repliedsaying” I will write all details all by myelf” He took three days to write details on what all he did and and what all he heard. In his 20 hat statements he described how his mother used to beat him during child hood. . He wrote how he used to make his mother cry while studying. He gave detailed description how he travelled to Tibet, how madly he fell in love with a Tibetan girl named Hisila, while doing business in SOAP how he lost busuness with Rs. 50/ as balance etc etc..details regarding family members, life journey, he didm’t mention about political activities. The army cornel Mr. Ganga Bahadur happened to be the person who got so excited to understand the writings of Dharma Ratna and described that his formal statements were the best. Later on when Juddha Samshere ordered to read out the detals of 27 hand lenghth hand written pper of dharma ratna they were so annoyed to see the contents which was nothing but his personnel accounts. LTER on he was tjen to Nara Samshere and was tortured, threatened and he was forced to disclose his activities. Exposing Mr. Murli dhar Sharma(member of Praja Parisad) as a main mentor in poitics. He said:
In order to sustain my family he was was employed in Tibet. While in Sara Nath I came across moorli dhar. There he brainwashed to make me think that ranas were suckingour citizens’ flesh if the body, they are destrying our woen and girls. After lustening to such dialuge I got toally brain washed.he even arranged appointment for me to meet pandit jwaharalal Nehru. And even he me hand over letter to ans too start having details
At Dharma Ratna Palpa, taught including awareness campaigning among youth. During traveling he met ex army officer Tej Bahadur Malla who advised Dharma Rata to meet the Chief Editor Mr. Brigechhya Beni Puri of the weekly called “Janata”.(Patna, Bharat) who used to be the only news covering social issues in Hindi language and the first article covering Ranas to appear first time in this paper. Dasharath Chand. The voice president of Praja Parishad used to flow all factual materials . Dasharath Chand was shot dead along with Ganga Lal at mid night on Tues day at Shova Bhagabati , near Bishnu Mati river of Kathmandu. On 15th Magh 1997. Janata news paper also used to cover details of Rana regime of Nepal news through this news paper. People used to secretly have access to news about Nepal through this news paper. The cost of the news used to be one ana people even spent fifty paisa to read news about Nepal. By April 1940 The Janata paper got more established Nepal creating wave in both the countries.
Rana Regime sent the army General Keshar Samsher to India to stop publishing Janata news paper. He even went and offered one lack rupees to ban the publication of the news paper however Mr Ben hari puri refused the bribe and replied “we are the people of principle, we do not get sold like this”. After knowing that Dharma Ratna Yami has been moving around with such revolutionary person running such news paper Ranas started hunting for Dharma Ratna and managed to get him arrested on 4th Kartik 1997. He was the 51st person to get arrested according to the list. After detailed interrogation with Dharam Ratna Yami they discovered that Dharma Ratna had been in close association with Pandit Rahul Sanskrityan in India. Keshar Samshere asked him” You even have contact with Rahul Sanskrityana?? Dharma Ratan replied “ He was my teacher who taught me Buddhsm” . After that Keshar Samsher replied with anger saying : “these both elements are crooks”. After undertaking detailed investigations on these key people all the arrested people were taken to Bhadra Gole Jail as per the decision of the court bench. Dharma Ratna was given 18 years jail sentence.
Highlighting on the capacity to crack humour during such risky timeJail inmate Khadka Man Singh Basnet said:
Once five six of us were gossiping in our room. Yamijee entered room with emotional voice almost in tears with all his undle of clothes wrapped in his bed sheet said”where will I dump this 18 yers jail sentence load in my head”. Every one in the room lauhed. Inside the room I asked him”whay are you doing??”. With great smile in his face he replied” in 11 years this is the situation of your state what will I be like after spending eighteen years in jail.when such feelings strike my mind I get extremly worried.whatching your spirit I felt that my days too will pass inside jail easily and to balance my feelings I have kept this bundle in my head”. During such young age dharma Ratna felt lucky to be surrounded by learned people like poet siddhi charan Shrestha, chitta dhar hridaya, kedar man byathit, purnabahadur ma etc. hehad an access to have a great debate about politics with people like tanka Prasad acharya. He had wisely utilized that team to enrich his depth of knowledge. He himself has mentioned “ to me this five years imprisonment completely transformed me and my fife. While outside prison I used to feel that I was very learned among the people around me. After staying among the people with learned friends inside jail engaging myself in heavy dialogue I realized my short comings in my knowledge.
All royal prisoners were released on indra jatra day 2002 after signing written bond except Tanka Prassad Acharya, Ram Hari Sharma, Chunda Mani Acharya, Khadga Man Singh Basnet, and Govinda Prasad Upadhya. Juddha samshere signing hettu that he will leave the royal kingdom and spend rest of his life meditating at raj biram raja rhiddhi. So he decodedto release people serving jail term.
of life they decided to get married.

And Dharma Ratan completed book on Siddhart Gautam’s brother Nanda called “ Arhat Nanda” Maha Kabya inluding a book on “Biswanter ya Macha dan “ Khanada Kabya.
Few months after being released in 2002 he got married to an educated girl Hira Devi he loved. Heera Devi’s father and the family members were not happy with this marriage. She herself took a bold step in meeting him and came out to settle down with Dharma Ratna with her own wish. Before marriage one day Sharma Ratna had warned her saying “you will have great difficulty getting married to a person struggling with hard poltical life, I am a property less person, on top of that I am a very bad person so I would advise you not to get married to me”. Heera Devi replied ” had you been a very bad person you won’t have been doing this real politics so I won’t have any regrets on my decision”. After knowing the details about each ones activities and goals
The impact made on the life of Dharma Ratna by political contributions made by Heera Devi shows what type of personality Heera Devi was.
Some well known political figures have published following regarding Heera Devi:
“ Her talent,qialifications, courage,behavioural qualities etc
1) Mr Ram Hari Sharma who received MUDDI SAMMA kai sajaya during Rana regime said” Dharma Ratna Yami’s wife Heera Devi is well versed with details of Nepal politics
and is a very dedicated person and has struggled a lot in Her contribution is great during democratic movement of Nepal during the most risky period. She underwent acute financial shortage facing acute hardship. She was a real model of that period. She was the person behind the success of Dharma Ratan Yami.
2)Similarly the communist key leader Mr. Tulsi Lal Amatya also praised her role serving under ground political activites says:
I came to know heera devi during underground activities during rana period. She was very courageous and very commited to democratic movement of Nepal andi would like to call her a brave woman. While she herself was straddling to meet her daily hand to mouth problem, she would go around hunting at many places to collect food for me and my associates. During those days one has to go tho out side compound for toilet activities. It was very dangerous to step out during day light . washing face, hands, mouth including passing urine and stool has to be done in a pan inside room. During those it was extremely risky to hide in one particular house. It used to be eaqually risky for the house owner to provide shelter for such poletical activists. Going around throwing the toilet shit in pan in open space only a mother woulddo to her own children. I did go and hid myself in many places however the love I received from heera devi from her true heartthat was very high levelservicei received from her.
3)
Politician and literary figure kedar man byathit wrote: like dharma ratna yami, his wife heera devi is of similarly of high quality person(…forte…) she has eaqually done great contribution in the democraticmovement of Nepal, before 1007. All her seven children are engaged in contribution to the development of Nepa after receiving good higher education. The true credit goes more to heera devithan her husband. During rana regimwhen no woman took risk to step out of house she took great risk and courage to step out and fight openly to fight for democratic movement of Nepal before 2007. She was a key player in initiating the first women’s association of Nepal.she cannot see any one sufferring.
4)similarlydharma ratna yami’s cousin sister Moti Laxmi Upasak, sister of poet Chitta dhar said:
Dharma Ratna is very progressive. Heera Devi s equalluy progressive. She never stepped back infront of hard challenges, would always be ready to do any thingshe is told, ready to face any difficulty, she never refuses, never ver felt shy and always ready to go any where. Heera devi was never scared , took lead role in processions on 15th august 1947. She was arrested along with one month child(first child). Dharma ratna was arrested during that time. Both couple werearrested on 31st srawan 1947,2004 during independence day of india. Heera devi was the chair person of that projest program. Both got arrested along with one month child (first child) in the lap of Heera Devi. Heera devi along with the child was kept in jail for 13 days and dharma ratna for sixmonths.

The program paper was snatched by Ranas from the hands of Tribhibar Singh Pradhan. Thevreason for opening Nepal Praja Panchayet due to the confluct between between groups led by BP Koirala and Dr. Dilli Raman Regmi. To improve the relation between the two groups Dharma Ratna Yami went Vanaras . He even met Jaya Prakesh Narayan and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya. Ganesh man Singh, surya bahdur Bhardwaj and dharma ratna yami tried their level best tomitigatethe confluct between Dr. Dilli Raman Regmi and Bisweshor Prasad Koirala however the effort went in vain.

The Nepal “Nepal Praja Panchayet” was very strong and  the oppression by the government on the members used to be harsh.
Within one and half month more than 200 party members were arrested. The ….. until poush 2005. The key players of the agitation were already inside jail. Remaining two to three people were ??? in ??? the agitation in which Gopal Prasad Rimal , Krishna Prashad Rimal, Dharma Ratna yami and BIshnu Bhakta Bhuju.?? Also the members of party were ? arrested from home. Till they had set out meeting in Sankhu and left for India leaving behind Bishnu Bhakta Bhuju.
Regarding this one founder member of “Nepal Praja Panchayat” Krishna Prasad Rimal (Gopal Prasad Rimal’s brother) said. “Those who were serving jail sentence advised Gopal Prasad Rimal, ?? and myself to go to India and create a single party by??? ?? between party ?. After agreeing to the advice of friend we managed to reach ? secretly. We tried to bring together two groups. We ? ? to honor the appeal sent by the friend inside the jail in Kathmandu. Regarding this book one old political worker Shree Chaitaneya Lal said- This book covered better detail about the environment of Tibet and we descrided that Lakxmi Prasad Devokta’s (B.S. 1966-2016) book “Muna Madan”.
Like Muna Madan if “sandeya lisa” also comes in the form of drama and popularized by the media people this book would have gained more fame than Muna Madan. ? one long poem collection regarding this book Nepal Bhasa and ? ? popular writer Madhav Lal Karmacharya explained the importance of this books as- “2006 end of month Chaitra Dharma Ratna published one educational poem(collection of songs) was written while inside jail in 2006 in which for ? with head bowed down , forgetting to raise the eyes such crowd he has encouraged poor helpless people ? then to come out with courage different language and community love towards culture and ? songs are included like that after serving 16 months of jail team producing two books 6th Falgun 2007. Pradipta Man Pradhan was released and returned home with happiness.
There was conflict when 7th Democracy day 2007 was announded. Rana-Congress joint government was formed when Dharma Ratna called “Ganga Jamuna” ministry council many times tried to patch up but didn’t work ? ? were worked out and a new government formation happened. President shree 5 Tribhuvan the current Matrika in the capacity of Congress chairman, he was offered ? he expressed his wish need to implement formation of council of Ministers representing for different parts and class. Matrika Koirala presented list of names. After seeing the names shree 5 Tribhuvan said “The names list seems of however there is shortage of key person surprisingly main community participation i.e. from Buddhist Community”. To represent that class Tribhuvan introduced Dharma Ratna Yami and said “ As per my information he is very good person, has stayed in Tibet, had stayed with Rahul Sanskrityana , has done ? social activity do include him understanding these qualities”.

I was not included in council of ministry as per wish of Matrika. For democracy we jointly fought together. He knows all about me and one day because of need of some urgent work I went to meet him and he sentenced me saying” I am not free” . It was king Tribhuvan who helped in including me in the council of Minister. King said “ What to think including him” then only he couldn’t reject me.
Before, during and after the? Of ministry post Dharma Ratna Yami continued getting special attention from king Tribhuvan. Dharma Ratna always remained as a trust worthy person in the eye of king Tribhuvan. He used to say that the king used to speak to him in Newari Language saying “? “ he used to feel really good and used to tell the same to his close friends.
After democracy king Tribhuvan went on a tour to Western Nepal along with his personal Assistant BIswa ? Bhakta Mathema. That time this journey was from Kathmandu to india’s laharia sarai on Dakota air craft. The route was on the way to jaynagar, Janakpur, Biratnagar and terminated after BIrgunj. In the year 2011 Shree 5 Tribhuvan while leafing for Switzerland for treatment by loading on the shoulder of Dharma Ratna Yami he had ordered saying “ I have caught up with very bad disease. I’m going to Europe. There is little chance of returning. For the country whatever I could do have done Today the nation is in the hand of youth like you. This will bear the fruit of gold. This way Dharma Ratna was very close to king Tribhuvan. After this his relation was good with Mahendra also. Stil in year 2017 when Panchayet reign was implemented Dhrma Ratna remained in jail at Shree Mahal. During this jail term he wrote book on “ ?” written in Newari Language which was also shorn to Professor Manik Lal Shrestha who was also arrested in the same building. He (Dharma Ratna Yami) internal heart he is a true democrat. In Nepal there should be democratic system he always believed on it.
Similarly once after being released from jail Ganesh Man had once asked Dharma Ratna yami “No one those who request for excuses maharjan releases? You also got release after excusing.” Dharma Ratna replied “Do you think I should rot by staying inside. You ran away from jail but I could not do same thing which ever means one should something. Which ever means one should come out and should complete work is my philosophy. That spirit of mine has not died down who is what actually is future will speak like this their (during ending period of fight againt Rana reign and during Panchayat system period.) ”.??????????

Regarding Dharma Ratna’s right attitude Ganesh Man said “ Because of the situation Dharma Ratna enterd Panchayat System inside his heart he was a true Democrat. He always raised the issue on the need of democracy in Nepal.” Similarly several times while Dharma Ratna served jail terms , Ganesh Man Singh used to ask him –“Isn’t it true that king released those who beg excuse to him” .

Dharma Ratna replied:- “Do you think I should not inside the jail ? You ran away from the jail , that was good but I couldn’t do the same.
